2015 Highlights


Annual General Meeting:  We thank Mike Kittlitz (2012 to 2014) who retired from the board of directors for his years of service:

New By-Laws were approved by the membership.  Changes to the By-Laws were required  so that the OTS could qualify for more funding raising alternatives through AGLC and Alberta Lotteries.  The new By-laws are posted on this website. 

Due to the changes in in the By-Laws,  the following directors ran for another 3 year term:

In addition, we were very fortunate to have the two individuals let their names stand for a three year term:

  • Colin Spencer - Commercial Solutions Inc. -  member since 2013
  • Graham Stanford - SoloStar Oilfield Services  -  member since 2014

Board was looking at filling 12 spots all the incumbents that were running and the 2 nominations were elected to the board.

2 time Stanley cup champion, Dave Lumley and former PGA Pro Garry Meyer entertained the crowd with a hot stove style discussion.

Wayne Rimbey of Magnum Cementing won the door prize - a Dave Lumley signed Jersey.

 

32nd Annual Crib Tournament: 74 teams participated in the March 5th tournament. 

Travis Schafer and Chris Cholak were the big winners - To find out whom the other winners were go to 2015 Crib Tournament.

 

5th Memorial Golf Tournament: Don Criss was honored and Daniel Zimmer, Dymtro Petruk, Sandy MacDonald and Harold Gartner were remembered by the 90 individuals that participated in the May 14th tournament held at the Jagare Ridge Golf Course.  The supper, after the tournament at the OTS Park, was prepared by The Canadian Brewhouse.

 

Annual Family Picnic: As usual, we had great weather on May 31st, consequently, over 150 people came out for the picnic.  The children were entertained Spiderman the balloon animal maker and the face painter.  They enjoyed the bouncy castle and obstacle course.

We were fortunate to have Cameron, Alberta Mobile Power Systems, and Solostar sponsor the Family Picnic while Horizon North provided the food, beverages and deserts.

 

8th Biennial Tent Party / Bar-B-Que Blowout: Over 500 people had a great time at this year's event.  The Edmonton OTS Executive thanks the followingTent Participants for making our event a great success. The participants did a phenomenal job.

45th Annual Golf Tournament: The Northern Bear Golf Club was in great shape for our tournament on August 12th and 13th

A Calcutta was held the evening before.  Tim Reynar, Rob Boyne and Craig Ferguson were the big winners,  The Calcutta information can be found in Calcutta Results 

A Million Dollar ($1,000,000) Hole-in-One shoot out was held on the 18th hole at the completion of the tournament.  25 individual had a shot winning the $1,000,000, unfortunately no one won.  Dean Berthold was the closest at 20 feet and 7 inches. Collin Spencer was the next closest.
